In October, the TIED Alumni Association hosts an open Roping & Barrel Race in nearby Mineral Wells, Texas. There are several different team roping events, including an Open Roping, a Dentist-only competition and a #11-Handicap open to the world. The Barrel Race is sponsored by Charmayne James and includes a $500-added money 5D.
