_ Laws vary from state and state, and country to country, therefore students pursuing the study of equine dentistry should familiarize themselves with the veterinary practice act of the states or countries where they are working to make sure they are not in violation of any laws.

For the latest laws for each state, please visit the AVMA website, which provides a summary for all states on whether equine dentistry falls under the practice of veterinary medicine.

Please visit the TBVME's website for the exact requirements on how to become licensed to work in Texas.

In Oklahoma, DT101 graduates are eligible to be licensed if they are residents of Oklahoma as long as they successfully complete 80 hours of education. Please visit the OBVME's website for more information.

In Minnesota, TIED graduates are eligible to be licensed for work. Please visit the Minnesota Board of Veterinary Medicine's website for more information about how to become licensed to work in MN.
