                                                                Director, Instructor, Owner, & President

Randy Riedinger grew up on a horse ranch in North Dakota and competed in rodeo most of his life.  He spent many years training and competing in cutting, reining, and roping.  Randy lived in Denver, Colorado, from 1984 until 1990.  He then moved to Cottonwood, California, where he started his practice in Equine Dentistry in 1992 and was awarded Master Certified Equine Dentist in 1999.

Over the years he has gained a great understanding of the problems that can occur in a horse’s mouth, often hindering health and peak performance.  Because of his deep love for horses he has dedicated the last 14 years to studying and correcting malocclusions and abnormalities in equines.  He remains at the forefront of the industry with his development of instruments, techniques and procedures.  Randy is known for perfecting the process of inter-oral molar extraction, done on horses of all ages and the development of the Riedinger Procedure, which is a proven method that can correct a major parrot mouth in most young horses.  This procedure has been published in the 1998 version of Oral Biomechanics and Dental Equilibration and Equidae, and is used at many institutions of equine dentistry.

Randy studied and taught at the Academy of Equine Dentistry in Idaho from 1996 until 2001, and was director in 1999.  He has served the school since 1997 as an active member of the Teaching Policy Committee until 2002.  He was one of the original members of the committee that helped establish and design the certification programs at the Academy and was chairman of the committee from 1999 until 2001.

In 2002 Riedinger established the Texas Institute of Equine Dentistry, Inc., located in Weatherford, Texas, which is the only state licensed equine dentistry school.  He is also an active member of the International Association of Equine Dentistry and the 2011 IAED Certification process was held at the Institute.

Randy’s clientele spans across the United States so between school sessions, he travels from Alaska to South Texas and from coast to coast.  His practice takes him to other countries as well, including Germany and the Netherlands.  Many top-performance horse owners and trainers rely on his skills and expertise to keep their horses at optimum performance level including Bob Avila, Charmayne James and Chris Cox. Randy has always enjoyed sharing this knowledge that has earned him the respect of top performance riders around the world.

Randy offered Justin a job “holding” horses after school.  Justin took the opportunity offered to him and worked with Randy from the 7th grade all the way through his graduation from Red Bluff High School in Cottonwood.  After graduation, he utilized the opportunity to work and travel with Randy.  In December of 1999, Justin started his own equine dental practice.  He attended the Academy of Equine Dentistry in Glenn's Ferry Idaho in 2000 and certified in 2002.  Justin began attending the Texas Institute of Equine Dentistry to complete his Master hours and is now an instructor at T.I.E.D.  Justin grew up around horses and has been roping, training and competing his own horses all his life.  He loves what he does and most of all loves helping all horses have a better life.  Best of all, seeing the smiles on the faces of the horse owners when they can see the results, is what his business is all about.
