optional wet lab

 

Texas Institute of Equine Dentistry is now offering an optional wet lab for students preparing to graduate from the program.  It is available to those who have successfully completed DT101 and DT102.  Students may attend no more than two of these additional wet labs and is strictly limited to four students per session.  The lab will be held the second week of our regular scheduled classes.  The cost will be $175 for the week.  Students must be registered no later then two weeks prior to the first day of the web lab.

 

 

Continuing Education Program

Graduates from the Texas Institute of Equine Dentistry are eligible to participate in the Continuing Education Program (CEP) to work toward Advanced and Master levels.  Students in CEP will participate in the wet lab portion of the class which is the second week of each session. These sessions will be strictly limited to 4 advanced/master students at a time and are free of charge.

 

Individual

Graduates from the Texas Institute of Equine Dentistry are now eligible to participate in a Continuing Education Program (CEP) in an exclusive class session with only Advanced/Master level students.  This session will run 3 days in length and be an intensive, personalized training session, one on one with our director, Randy Riedinger.  If you are a current T.I.E.D. graduate, the fee for this class will be $100.00 a day per 3 day session.  If you are a graduate of any other equine dental school and would like to attend, the transfer fee for your first session is $1500.00.  Once you have established yourself as a T.I.E.D. student, you may return to any session for $100.00 a day per 3 day session.

 

At this time, our director would like to extend an invitation to any Veterinarian who wishes to learn advanced dentistry.  The initial fee would be $1500.00.  After establishing yourself as a T.I.E.D. student, you may return to any session for $100.00 a day per 3 day session.

 

 

Advanced Equine Dental Equilibration

Certificate of Completion of the Equine Dental Equilibration program from the Texas Institute of Equine Dentistry is a

pre-requisite.  Students must complete DT 201 through DT 204, four one-week sessions, consisting of 50 hours each of practical application.  Requirements to complete the Advanced Equine Dental Equilibration program are as follows:

 

a.      Attend a total of 200 hours of advanced level dental courses (DT201, DT202, DT203, & DT204); and

b.     Provide practical advice regarding extraction of molars in horses less then twenty years of age; and

c.     Provide 50 documented cases of advanced dentistry (must be from post graduate work preformed); and

d.     Pass a written final exam with a minimum grade of 85% or better; and

e.      Pass a practical final exam with a minimum grade of 95% or better.

 

Master Equine Dental Equilibration

Certificate of Completion of the Advanced Equine Dental Equilibration program from the Texas Institute of Equine Dentistry is a pre-requisite.  Students must complete DT 301 through DT 310, ten one-week sessions, consisting of 50 hours each of practical application.  The Texas Institute of Equine Dentistry must approve appointment to all Master Equine Dentists.  Requirements to complete the Master Equine Dental Equilibration program are as follows:

 

a.      Attend a total of 5000 hours of master level dental courses (DT301, DT302, DT303, DT304, DT305, DT306, DT307, DT308, DT309 & , DT310); and

b.   Completion of Full Body Anatomy including a written examination with a passing grade of 85% or better; and

c.     Provide 100 documented cases of advanced dentistry (must be from post Advanced Program work preformed); and

d.  Prepare a 3,000-word thesis on any aspect of equine dentistry: and

e.   Pass a written final exam with a minimum grade of 85% or better; and

f.  Pass a practical final exam with a minimum grade of 95% or better.
